Drawings

Charcoal pencil sketches I drew recently. Each sketch took about 15 mins.

Three stages of a drawing.
At the first stage I aim to define the position of the main body parts of the model using only a few very loose lines.
The second drawing gives more details but the lines are still soft and light, so that I can make changes to the proportions or directions when necessary.
It is the third stage when all the lines and shades are finalised by giving more and more details to the framework.

Through this process I memorise the shape and pose of the model in order to be able to draw the figure by heart later.
